THE MIDNIGHT SHADE

For most fashion folks from Mumbai to Manhattan, black is a staple — a message designers echoed this season. The midnight shade showed up in full force with a few twists — a Roberto Cavalli corset popped with brightly hued floral ambroidery, nude layering and tulle minimised the harsh shade at Louis Vuitton, while Burberry Prorsum, Chanel and Dior played with textures. Even the sari was given a makeover at Gaurav Gupta with Grecian pleats enhanced by winding serpent embroidery.
